PERUZZI
The Peruzzi family is one of the oldest families in Florence, with roots dating back to the middle ages. in those days they were leading bankers, so as to be considered, beyond any doubt, one of the five families who built the history of Florence during the Renaissance, one of their main achievements being the minting of the first gold coin in the history of banking: I.E. the Florin. One example of the importance of this family are the frescoes they commissioned from Giotto, which can be seen in the S.Croce Church.
The founder of "Peruzzi S.p.a.", Mr. Rino Peruzzi, set up in business in 1948 making and selling a vast array of handmade leather goods, most of which were embellished with gold leaf inlays and decorations. Not many years after he began manufacturing leather clothing, and after having supplied leading italian fashion designers with his merchandise for many years he decided to open his own store.
Peruzzi is now one of the most important producers of leather goods with exports worldwide, and is a specialist in fine leather clothing.
